OqueStrada - Oxalá te veja

Vi-os pela primeira vez num show case na Fnac de Almada, numa noite aderente em 30 de Novembro de 2005 e reconheci logo algo muito agradável, com a "agravante" de serem uma banda de Almada e de onde surgem muitas das melhores bandas nacionais. A vocalista Marta Miranda tem uma excelente voz e presença, o que já por si é meio caminho andado, sendo o resto do caminho realizado por uma banda muito competente, com guitarra portuguesa, contra-baixo, acordeão e outros instrumentos, que resultam num mix em que a música é do mais original que há e a qualidade abunda... dia 24 estarão a tocar em Almada o seu álbum Tasca Beat, que é, a meu ver, excelente!

Está prestes a sair o novo mini álbum dos James, "The Night Before" e só lamento uma coisa... é um MINI!!! De qualquer forma, este mini deles é como sempre, o MÁXIMO!!! Melhor mesmo, era eles fazerem uma Tour por Portugal para ver como soam ao vivo os novos sons...
Já conhecia o "Porcupine" dos concertos da última digressão e as outras estão muito boas, especialmente o "It´s Hot" e o "Ten Below"... Espero que gostem tanto como eu, ora oiçam...

As capas dos álbuns continuam a revelar um art work excelente, não há uma que não goste! Até já imagino as T-Shirts com a imagem do CD...

The National - Terrible Love

A primeira vez que vi esta banda foi em 2007 após um brilhante concerto de "regresso" dos James a terras nacionais... Estava extasiado e ainda com um grande sorriso nos lábios quando no palco secundário do Festival Sudoeste ia começar a tocar uma banda que nem o nome conhecia... o vocalista apresentou-se com um copo de vinho tinto (acho que já é uma imagem de marca nas bandas que se deslocam a Portugal... parece que já estou a ver o Saul Davies dos James com o violino numa mão, o copo de tinto na outra e o habitual cigarro na boca...)...
Surpreenderam-me pela energia e pelo estilo peculiar (e bem "apanhado/louco") do vocalista que punha o microfone ao ouvido como se estivesse a falar ao telefone ou então "simplesmente" a "bater" com o dito objecto na cabeça... Loucura! Uma das músicas que me ficou marcada então pela sua irreverência e energia chama-se "Abel"... Fez-me lembrar as bandas de garagem, com um som bem crú e puro...
É claro que procurei saber quem eram aqueles "meninos" e descobri na hora... depois foi só chegar a casa e procurar o som que me havia entusiasmado e, eis que estava confirmada mais uma bela banda... os The National. Já regressaram a Portugal e voltaram a encantar.
Devem estar a lançar um novo álbum e para abrir o apetite fiquem com o provavel primeiro single...


PS: Nesse ano ainda descobri outra boa banda... os Guillemots!

Cada vez oiço menos rádio e quando o faço é para ouvir a TSF pela manhã, quando estou a caminho do trabalho. A excepção dá pelo nome de Radar, que é uma rádio bem alternativa e nada comercial, como gosto! De qualquer forma, hoje em dia sou (praticamente) eu que vou descobrindo a ´"minha" música. Esta banda foi-me dada a conhecer pela minha amiga V.. "Adquiri" o álbum e posso desde já dizer que fiquei francamente admirado...Ora oiçam...
