Clogs - Last Song (featuring Matt Berninger from The National)

Clogs - Last Song
If this was our last song
what would we do then?
(If) this was our last song
what would we say then?
If this was our last time
what would we do
what would we say then?

The National - Lean (Live @ Lisboa)

The National - Lean
Everybody needs a pray, needs a friend
Everybody knows the world's about to end
Everybody wants to know when the end will be
Everybody wants to look before they leave
Everybody wants a simple wine to drink
Everybody wants a little more time to think
Everybody needs a reason why they run
Everybody wants to know what they're running from

And I can see your fever's on the rise
I can see the water in your eyes
And I can see the way the water leads
Loving me is so bitter-sweet?
Dying is easy, I believe my love for my love release me
Dying is easy, I believe my love for my love release me
You said it was everything

Everybody takes forever to fall asleep
Everybody's got a love they don't want to keep
Everybody needs a pray, needs a friend
Everybody knows the world's about to end

And I can see your fever's on the rise
I can see the water in your eyes
And I can see the way the water leads
Loving me is so bitter-sweet?
Dying is easy, I believe my love for my love release me
Dying is easy, I believe my love for my love release me
You said it was everything
I know, don't let it lean

And I can see your fever's on the rise
I can see the water in your eyes
And I can see the way the water leads
Loving me is so bitter-sweet?
Dying is easy, I believe my love for my love release me
Dying is easy, I believe my love for my love release me
You said it was everything
I know, don't let it lean

Birdy - Terrible Love (Live)

Birdy - Terrible Love (The National cover)
It's a terrible love and I'm walking with spiders
It's a terrible love and I'm walkin' in
It's a terrible love and I'm walking with spiders
It's a terrible love and I'm walkin' in
It's quiet company, it's quiet company.

It's a terrible love and I'm walking with spiders
It's a terrible love and I'm walkin' in
It's a terrible love and I'm walking with spiders
It's a terrible love and I'm walkin' in
It's quiet company, it's quiet company.

And I can't fall sleep without a little help
It takes a while to settle down
My shivered bones
Until the panic sets.

It takes an ocean not to break
It takes an ocean not to break
It takes an ocean not to break
It takes an ocean not to break

Company
It's quiet company
It's quiet company
It's quiet company

And I won't follow you
Into the rabbit hole
I said I would but then I saw
Your shivered bones
They didn't want me too.

It's a terrible love and I'm walking with spiders
It's a terrible love and I'm walkin' in
It's a terrible love and I'm walking with spiders
It's a terrible love and I'm walkin' in

It takes an ocean not to break
It takes an ocean not to break
It takes an ocean not to... Break

The National - Pink Rabbits (Live on KCRW)

The National - Pink Rabbits
I couldn't find quiet
I went out in the rain
I was just soakin' my head to unrattle my brain
Somebody said you disappeared in a crowd
I didn't understand then
I don't understand now

Am I the one you think about
When you're sitting in your faintin' chair drinking pink rabbits?
Am I the one you think about
When you're sitting in your faintin' chair drinking pink rabbits?

And everybody was gone
You were staring down the street 'cause you were tryin' not to crack up

It wasn't like a rain, it was more like a sea
I didn't ask for this pain, it just came over me
I love a storm, but I don't love lightning
All the waters coming up so fast, it's frightening

Am I the one you think about
When you're sitting in your faintin' chair drinking pink rabbits?

Am I the one you think about
When you're sitting in your faintin' chair drinking pink rabbits?

And everybody was gone

I was staring down the street 'cause I was trying not to crack
I was solid gold
I was in the fight
I was coming back
From what seemed like a ruin
I couldn't see you coming so far
I just turn around and there you are

I'm so surprised you want to dance with me now
I was just getting used to living life without you around
I'm so surprised you want to dance with me now
You always said I held you way too high off the ground

You didn't see me I was falling apart
I was a white girl in a crowd of white girls in the park
You didn't see me I was falling apart
I was a television version of a person with a broken heart
You didn't see me I was falling apart
I was a white girl in a crowd of white girls in a park
You didn't see me I was falling apart
I was a television version of a person with a broken heart

And everybody was gone
You were staring down the street cause you were trying not to crack up
Bona drag was still on
Now I only think about los angeles when the sound kicks out
Now I only think about los angeles when the sound kicks out

You said it would be painless
A needle in the dark
You said it would be painless
It wasn't that at all
You said it would be painless
A needle in the dark
You said it would be painless
It wasn't that at all (when the sound kicks out)

You said it would be painless
The needle in the dark (when the sound kicks out)
You said it would be painless
It wasn't that at all

The National - Graceless (Live at The Cutting Room Studios)

Em Novembro em Lisboa. O reencontro...

The National - Graceless
Graceless
Is there a powder to erase this?
Is it dissolvable and tasteless?
You can't imagine how I hate this
Graceless

I'm trying, but I am graceless
Don't have the sunny side to face this
I am invisible and weightless
You can't imagine how I hate this
Graceless

I'm trying, but I'm gone
Through the glass again
Just come and find me
God loves everybody, don't remind me
I took the medicine and I went missing
Just let me hear your voice, just let me listen

Graceless
I figured out how to be faithless
But it will be a shame to waste this
You can't imagine how I hate this
Graceless

I'm trying, but I'm gone
Through the glass again
Just come and find me
God loves everybody, don't remind me
I took the medicine and I went missing
Just let me hear your voice, just let me listen

All of my thoughts of you
Bullets through rock and through
Come apart at the seams
Now I know what dying means

I am not my rosy self
Left my roses on my shelf
Take the WHITE ones, they're my favorites
It's the side effects that save us

Grace
Put the flowers you find in a vase
If you're dead in the mind it'll brighten the place
Don't let them die on the vine, it's a waste
Grace

There's a science to walking through windows
There's a science to walking through windows
There's a science to walking through windows
There's a science to walking through windows without you

All of my thoughts of you
Bullets through rock and through
Come apart at the seams
Now I know what dying means

I am not my rosy self
Left my roses on my shelf
Take the WHITE ones, they're my favorites
It's the side effects that save us

Grace
Put the flowers you find in a vase
If you're dead in the mind it'll brighten the place
Don't let them die on the vine, it's a waste
Grace

Grace
Put the flowers you find in a vase
If you're dead in the mind it'lll brighten the place
Don't let them die on the vine, it's a waste
Grace

The National - This Is The Last Time (feat. Annie Clark / St. Vincent) Bonnaroo Festival 2013

The National - This Is The Last Time
Oh, when I lift you up you feel
Like a hundred times yourself
I wish everybody knew
What's so great about you

Oh, but your love is such a swap
You don't think before you jump
And I said I wouldn't get sucked in
Ahhhhahhhahhahhh

This is the last time
Oh, don't tell anyone I'm here
I've got tylenol and beer
I was thinking that you call somebody
Closer to you

Oh, but your love is such a swamp
You're the only thing I want
And I said I wouldn't cry about
Ahhhhahhhahhahh

This is the last time
This is the last time

We were so under the prime
We were so vacant and kind
We were so under the prime
We were so vacant
We were so under the prime
We were so out of our minds
We were so under the prime
We were so vacant

Oh, when I lift you up you feel
Like a hundred times yourself
I wish everybody knew
What's so great about you

Oh, but your love is such a swap
You don't think before you jump
And I said I wouldn't get sucked in
Ahhhhahhhahhahh

I won't be vacant anymore
I won't be waiting anymore
I won't be faking anymore
I won't be waiting anymore

Jenny I am in trouble
Can't get these thoughts out of me
Jenny I'm seeing double
I know this changes everything

It takes a lot of rain in the cup
It takes a lot of pain to pick me up
It takes a lot of rain in the cup
It takes a lot of pain to pick me up

Baby you gave me pain and tears
Baby you left me sad and high

Estados de espírito - The National - Slipped

The National - Slipped
I'm in the city you hated
My eyes are falling
Counting the clicks with the living dead
My eyes are red

I'm in the crush and I hate it
My eyes are falling
I'm having trouble inside my skin
I tried to keep my skeletons in

Is it weird to be back in the south?
And can they even tell
That the city girl was ever there
Or anywhere

I'm having trouble inside my skin
I tried to keep my skeletons in
I'll be a friend and a fuck-up
And everything

But I'll never be
Anything you ever want me to be

I keep coming back here where everything...slipped
But I will not spill my guts out
I keep coming back here where everything...slipped
But I will not spill my guts out

I don't need any help to be breakable, believe me
I know nobody else who can laugh along to any kind of joke
I won't need any help to be lonely when you leave me

It'll be easy to cover
Gather my skeletons far inside
It'll be summer in Dallas
Before I realize

I don't want you to grieve
But I want you to sympathize (alright)
I can't blame you for losing
Your mind for a little while (so did I)
I don't want you to change
But I want you to recognize (that I)

It'll be easy to cover
Gather your skeletons far inside
It'll be summer in Dallas
Before you realize
That I'll never be
Anything you ever want me to be

I keep coming back here where everything...slipped
But I will not spill my guts out
I keep coming back here where everything...slipped
But I will not spill my guts out

The National - The Rains Of Castamere (Game of Thrones - Lannister Song)

The National - The Rains Of Castamere
And who are you, the proud lord said,
That I must bow so low?
Only a cat of a different coat,
That’s all the truth I know.

In a coat of gold or a coat of red,
A lion still has claws,
And mine are long and sharp, my lord,
As long and sharp as yours.

And so he spoke, and so he spoke,
That lord of castamere,
But now the rains weep o’er his hall,
With no one there to hear.

Yes now the rains weep o’er his hall,
And not a soul to hear.

The National - "I Need My Girl" on Q (Live)

The National - I Need My Girl
I am good but i am grounded
Davy says that i look taller
I can't get my head around it
I keep feeling smaller and smaller

I need my girl
I need my girl

Remember when you lost your shit
And drove the car into the garden
You got out and said "i'm sorry"
To the vines and no one saw it

I need my girl
I need my girl

I'm under the gun again
I know i was a 45 percenter then
I know i was a lot of things
But i am good but i am grounded
Davy says that i look taller
I can't get my head around it
I keep feeling smaller and smaller

I need my girl
I need my girl

There's some things that i should never
Laugh about in front of family
In a week we'll be together
I'll try to call you when i'm landing

I need my girl
I need my girl

Remember when you said "i'm sorry"
To the vines and no one saw it
I tried to call you from the party
It's full of punks and cannonballers

I need my girl
I need my girl

I'm under the gun again
I know i was a 45 percenter then
I know i was a lot of things
But i am good but i am grounded
Davy says that i look taller
I can't get my head around it
I keep feeling smaller and smaller

I need my girl
I keep feeling smaller and smaller
I need my girl
I keep feeling smaller and smaller

The National - Sea Of Love

The National - Sea Of Love
Before you say you love me Joe
How am I supposed to know?
When you go under the waves
What am I supposed to say?

I see people on the floor
Aspiring to the sea
Can’t stay here anymore
We're turning into thieves

If I stay here trouble will find me
If I stay here I'll never leave
If I stay here trouble will find me
I believe

Joe I'll always think of you
As a kinder child who knew
This was never gonna last
Oh Joe you fell so fast

Hey Joe sorry I hurt you but
They say love is a virtue
Don't they?
Hey Joe sorry I hurt you but
They say love is virtue
Don’t they?
Hey Joe sorry I hurt you but
They say love is virtue
Don’t they?
Hey Joe sorry I hurt you but
They say love is virtue
Don’t they?
Hey Joe sorry I hurt you but
They say love is a virtue
Don't they?

I see people on the floor
Aspiring to the sea
Can't stay here anymore
We're turning into thieves

I see you rushing now
Tell me how to reach you
I see you rushing now
What’d Harvard teach you? (repeat x5)

The National - Afraid of Everyone, with Richard Reed Parry of Arcade Fire

The National – Afraid of Everyone
Venom radio and, venom television
I'm afraid of everyone, I'm afraid of everyone
They're the young blue bodies with the old red bodies
I'm afraid of everyone, I'm afraid of everyone

With my kid on my shoulders, I'll try
Not to hurt anybody I like
But I don't have the drugs to sort
I don't have the drugs to sort it out, sort it out

I defend my family with my orange umbrella
I'm afraid of everyone, I'm afraid of everyone
With my shining new star-spangled tennis shoes on
I'm afraid of everyone, I'm afraid of everyone

With my kid on my shoulders, I'll try
Not to hurt anybody I like
But I don't have the drugs to sort
I don't have the drugs to sort it out, sort it out

But I don't have the drugs to sort
I don't have the drugs to sort it out, sort it out

You're the voices swallowing my soul, soul, soul

The National - Think You Can Wait

The National - Think You Can Wait
I was driftin'
Cryin'
I was looking for another
And I was slippin' under
I pulled the devil down with me
One way or another

I'm out of my mind
Think you can wait
I'm way off the line
Think you can wait

We've been running a sleepless run
Been away from the baby way too long
We've been holding a good night gone
We've been losing our exits one by one

I'm out of my mind
Think you can wait
I'm way off the line
Think you can wait

Ida(?)
(All I have is loss)
Think you can wait
Ida(?)
(All I have is loss)
Think you can wait

What I'm thinking is simple
I'll sell apples and ice water at the temple
And I won't make trouble
I'll pull the devil down with me one way or another
We've been running a sleepless run
Been away from the baby way too long
We've been holding a good night gone
We've been losing our exits one by one

I'll try
I'll try
But I couldn't be better
(All I have is loss)
I'll try
But I couldn't be better
(All I have is loss)
I'll try
But I couldn't be better
(All I have is loss)

The National and St. Vincent - Sleep All Summer (Crooked Fingers Cover)

Há músicas deliciosas...

The National and St. Vincent - Sleep All Summer (Crooked Fingers Cover)
Weary sun, sleep tonight, go crashing into the oceanCut the line that ties the tide and moon, ancient and blueWe take our empty hearts and fill them up with broken thingsTo hang on humming wire like cheap lamps down a dead end streetClose your weary eyes until the wintertimeAnd every time we turn away it hits me like a tidal waveI would change for you but, babe, that doesn't mean I'm gonna be a better manGive the ocean what I took from you so one day you could find it in the sandAnd hold it in your hands again
Cold ways kill cool loversStrange ways we used each otherWhy won't you fall back in love with me?There ain't no way we're gonna find anotherThe way we sleep all summerSo why won't you fall back in love with me?
Combing over Broken Cross I held on youHaunted by the ghost of something new
Curtains fall, fashions fade, an endless summer overAnother tide to launch an autumn moon over the dunesThere must be a better way to pull a whole apartTo keep a world from caving inAnother way to while away from you, frozen and blueClose your weary eyes until the wintertimeBut everytime we turn away it surges like a tidal waveI would change but, babe, that doesn't mean I'm gonna be a better manGive the ocean what I took from you so one day you could find it in the sandAnd hold it in your hands again
Cold ways kill cool loversStrange way we use each otherWhy won't you fall back in love with me?There ain't no way we're gonna find anotherThe way we sleep all summerWhy won't you fall back in love with me?
Why won't you fall back in love with me?

Em modo "REPEAT".... The National - Slow Show (Live and Acoustic)

The National - Slow Show

Standing at the punch table swallowing punch
can't pay attention to the sound of anyone
a little more stupid, a little more scared
every minute more unprepared

I made a mistake in my life today
everything I love gets lost in drawers
I want to start over, I want to be winning
way out of sync from the beginning

I wanna hurry home to you
put on a slow, dumb show for you
and crack you up
so you can put a blue ribbon on my brain
god I'm very, very frightening
I'll overdo it

Looking for somewhere to stand and stay
I leaned on the wall and the wall leaned away
Can I get a minute of not being nervous
and not thinking of my dick
My leg is sparkles, my leg is pins
I better get my shit together, better gather my shit in
You could drive a car through my head in five minutes
from one side of it to the other

I wanna hurry home to you
put on a slow, dumb show for you
and crack you up
so you can put a blue ribbon on my brain
god I'm very, very frightening
I'll overdo it

You know I dreamed about you
for twenty-nine years before I saw you
You know I dreamed about you
I missed you for
for twenty-nine years

You know I dreamed about you
for twenty-nine years before I saw you
You know I dreamed about you
I missed you for
for twenty-nine years

The National - Anyone's Ghost Castle Rock Session

The National - Anyone´s Ghost
say you stay at home
alone with the flu
find out from friends
that wasn't true
go out at night with your headphones on, again
and walk through the Manhattan valleys of, the dead

didn't want to be your ghost
didn't want to be anyone's ghost
didn't want to be your ghost
didn't want to be anyone's ghost
but I don't want anybody else
I don't want anybody else

you said I came close
as anyone's come
to live underwater
for more than a month
you said it was not inside my heart, it was
you said it should tear a kid apart, it does

didn't want to be your ghost
didn't want to be anyone's ghost
didn't want to be your ghost
didn't want to be anyone's ghost
but I don't want anybody else
I don't want anybody else
I don't want anybody else
I don't want anybody else

I had a hole in the middle where the lightning went through it
told my friends not to worry
I had a hole in the middle someone's sideshow wouldn't do it
I told my friends not to worry

didn't want to be your ghost
didn't want to be anyone's ghost
didn't want to be your ghost
didn't want to be anyone's ghost

The National - Terrible Love
