Foi há 25 anos atrás e lembro-me como se fosse hoje...

... o LIVE AID... Das muitas bandas que vi passar naquele dia, a actuação de uma marcou-me especialmente. Nunca mais vi a música da mesma forma e se já gostava dos U2, naquele dia consolidaram-se como a "minha banda" do coração. Os U2 tocavam o "Bad", com o Bono Vox e o seu "irish accent" a darem espectáculo para o Estádio de Wembley, e para o mundo que assistia em "directo" à maior iniciativa de solidariedade para com África através da música, quando o Bono se atirou literalmente do palco para ir buscar uma fã, dando origem a uma versão "prolongada" do "Bad" com 12 minutos. Li mais tarde que a banda na altura ficou "lixada" com a atitude irreverente e irreflectida(ou não...) de Bono, porém o mundo que assistia em directo, "aplaudiu" e "vibrou com a actuação dos U2 e dessa atitude em particular... E é assim se ganha o estatuto da melhor banda de rock do mundo. Nessa tarde tocaram também o "Sunday Bloody Sunday" e nada mais há a dizer que "Rock n´Roll stops traffic"!!! Em Outubro lá estarei para os ver pela 4.ª vez ao vivo...

James - I Wanna Go Home Live@RockOneFestivalAlgarve 2009

Se há uma banda pela qual tenho um carinho muito especial e uma grande empatia, são os James... Já perdi a conta ao número de vezes que os vi ao vivo, tendo assistido aos concertos deles desde 1992, no Coliseu de Lisboa, tendo tido o privilégio de conhecer a banda toda nesse dia que me ficou marcado, tinha eu 17 anos, o cabelo comprido e toda uma irreverência típica daquela idade... Desde então consegui falar novamente com a banda por duas vezes, tendo inclusive algumas fotos, autógrafos e outros "souvenirs" como setlists ou as palhetas das guitarras... São bastante simples e não têm nada de vedetas, a começar pelo seu líder carismático, Tim Booth. Em palco transforma-se completamente e fica "eléctrico", vejam o vídeo e vão ter um pequeno exemplo que vos vai elucidar quanto a esse aspecto... Outra coisa que me encanta, é o violino que o Saul Davies sabe tocar como ninguém... dá um toque diferente a qualquer que seja a música...
Uma vez que eles têm uma ligação tão grande com Portugal, espero ansiosamente pelo regresso deles aos palcos nacionais, nomeadamente à Aula Magna ou ao Coliseu...

Mais uma vez... Energia é precisa... e quem melhor do que os Depeche Mode para a gerarem...

Não sendo das letras mais profundas dos Depeche Mode, em poucas palavras transmitem o que se pretende e o ritmo é simplesmente fantástico.  

Apesar de gostar de algumas novas bandas que vão surgindo, continuo muito "preso" ao passado e a bandas que vieram dos anos 80 (e de outros anos, mas os 80...). U2, James, Depeche Mode, entre outras... e agora:

U2 - Nou Camp - Barcelona 30-06-2009 - The Unforgettable Fire

A melhor banda do mundo está de volta aos "palcos"... A 360º Degrees Tour iniciou-se no estádio do Barcelona, o "Nou Camp". Tudo indica que os U2 estão melhores do que nunca e o seu regresso "arrepia-me". Dos vários vídeos que já vi, o Bono (em grande forma...) e os U2 recomendam-se. Agora é esperar que a tour passe por Portugal e lá terei que ir mais uma noite para o "relento" para arranjar bilhetes. Valeu a pena e acho que continua a valer :-) Era tão bom vê-los uma quarta vez...
